ALCA encourages the Western Australian Government not to introduce a Fee for Objections given the obstruction to the pursuit of the public interest it would create,
ALCA submission on the WA proposal for fees for objection under the Mining Act 1978
Given the obstruction to the pursuit of the public interest that the proposed levy would create, the WA Government should not introduce a Fee for Objections under the Mining Act 1978.

Should the WA Government nevertheless proceed with a fee, not-for-profits, community organisations and non-mining individuals should be exempt from the fee, and any fee should not be levied until the substantive matter proceeds to a decision.
