PLC17 was held 19-20 October 2017 in Hobart and hosted by the Tasmanian Land Conservancy.
The theme for the third ALCA Private Land Conservation conference, valuing nature, tested and challenged perspectives and understanding of how our environment’s wellbeing is attributed – from natural capital and ecosystem services, to community and cultural connections, and the inherent value of nature for it’s own sake. In exploring different views on nature, PLC17 explored how to communicate and connect with a broader audience.
From indigenous knowledge and land management to the control of crazy ants, from on farm biodiversity to nature on the balance sheet, PLC17 provided a diverse and engaging conference program.
